Modular Approval Requirements and conditions
1) Modular approval is generally accepted in the Faroe Islands for wireless modules intended for integration into various end products, provided that they carry the CE mark, c.f. https://logir.fo/Kunngerd/131-fra-11-12-2015-fra-Fjarskiftiseftirlitinum-um-krov-til-fjarskiftisutbunad and comply with the relevant Faroese Radio Interface Specifications, c.f. https://logir.fo/Kunngerd/36-fra-23-03-2022-fra-Fjarskiftiseftirlitinum-um-radiomarkamot.
2) Apart from the CE marking and compliance with the applicable Radio Interface Specifications, there are no further requirements for approval or registration.
3) The Faroese authorities do not issue a national certificate for such modules. If the module meets the conditions under point 1, it may be used in the Faroe Islands without additional approval or registration.
4) Additional product models may likewise be used in the Faroe Islands without further approval or registration, provided they also comply with the requirements mentioned under point 1.
The basic condition for a non-national entity to be covered by the Faroese Telecommunications Act (https://logir.fo/Logtingslog/72-fra-22-05-2015-um-fjarskifti) is that the end user resides or if a company, is registered in the Faroe Islands.
